A)He had to be shot, otherwise the same thing would soon begin happenin with him, that is happenin James Hetfield, he started to clean up his act, and all of a sudden, he sucks! Its best we remember him as an awesome guitarist, and loath the guy that shot him, then he lives, and fans begin to hate him, driving him into depression that would untimatly end with suicide, or worse, he actually did become shit.
