Alana cautiously walked up the small patch of ground at the front of the mysterious castle, she wondered how she got here. Only minutes berfore she had been duelling in a tournament when she started to hear a mysterious voice it said "Alana, it is time, time for your destiny to be fulfilled". With those last words she felt as though she was falling into the depths of hell, it was so hot, so hot her mithril shield began to glow. What was happening? Now, she was the door of a giant castle, the onlty patch of ground was the one she was standing on. The castle, it seemed, was floating on the sea. Odd, she thought, seeing as she lived quite a long distance from the sea. The catle seemed to be calling at her. Being the naiive teenager she was, she walked up to the door and knocked...but noone answered. She opened the door just a crack so she could see inside. There were torches blazing fiercly in their brackets along the walls, they lit up a path and Alana decided to walk down this path as thats where it seemed they wanted her to go. She followed the path and it seemed to go on for eternity, then she spotted another door which was slightly ajar just so she could see a bright red glow on the other side. She peeped through the gap and what she saw beyond that amazed her beyond her beleif. Master Seth her old mentor the man she beleived to be dead, was here right in front of her in an all out battle with, what it looked like, a mirror image of himself, but she could not see completely as this room was not lit by torches, the only light was that of Master Seths magic attacking whatever it was he was battling. She tried to creep closer to see her old master in battle when all of a sudden a giant fireball that had rebounded off the wall had suddenly come her way. Luckily, her years of surviving in the forest by herself she had very fast reactions and ducked the fireball, she could smell a few stray hairs on her haid that had been singed, she was lucky to miss that one. She had yelled if sudden fright, which caught Seths attention.....

As Seth spun around, the image of himself vanished in an instant, Seths' cape flew out behind him, falling to rest against his back again once he stopped, the cold stare that Seth was giving Alana instantly disappeared as soon as he saw that she was infact, his long lost "daughter" A look that Seth had not given anyone since the day he thought she was lost, Seths' face turned to a look of fondness, compassion, for the first time in too long, Seth was...happy...But Seth was not a man to easily show his feelings, as his face turned back to a cold look again, even though Alana knew that Seth was happy to see her, she diddn't mind the way he pretended otherwise My old student...I never would have expected to see you arrive on my island...you must be far stronger than you once were... [/b][/center][/color] Seth looked his page over, amazed at how much she had grown, it had been years since he had lost the little girl who was once his apprentice, she had certainly changed her choice of clothing, giving up the simple leather armour, boots and chain-mail that Seth found so efficient, she had a long, black cape on, much like the one Seth himself wore, her boots, jeans and top made her seem so much different to the girl Seth had once trained, but she still seemed familiar as Seth noticed tears welling up in the corners of her eyes, he only had a second to notice though as she ran over and threw her arms around him, knocking him a little off balance as he lifted his arms a little with a look of slight shock and confusion on his face, not knowing how to treat this situation, Seth put one arm over her shoulder for a moment, to reassure her, then backed away a little, looking down to her face, Seth suddenly realised how attatched she must have gotten to him, after all those years of training, Seth haddn't even realised, but he always was slow when it came to the emotions of women, he would come to realise in time, but for now, the two had a lot of catching up to do. [/center] Alana, it's been years...I never thought I would find my old apprentice again, you seem so much older, and stronger...tell me, what have you been doing all this time? She knew he was fond of her, yet he didnt like to show it.....why? After all these years, after she beleived that he was dead, all he could offer was an arm around her shoulder. She had to admit, she was dissapointed with his response, but she admired him all the same. Although he still had the yound handsome face he always did, she thought he looked somewhat different, she didnt know what it was, be there was definitely something different about her old master..
Well, after you dissapeared i was left to fend for myself in the forest i got along okay, i was even in a couple of tournaments.....well i never won one....but thats not the point! I have grown stronger though, maybe one day ill even battle you!
And it was true, she had become alot stronger since Seth had seen her but she needed to prove it maybe there was someone in the strange Castle she could battle so she could show him how strong she really was |

Seth knew that she wasn't impressed with his mediocre reaction, but she had interrupted a deep form of training, and Seth was still a little dazed by the sudden jolt back to reality, It diddn't take long for his mind to return to normal, he had been training like this for some time, so he was used to it, but Seth diddn't have much time to talk to Alana, he had many things to do, people he needed to talk to, and there was that rather unpleasent ghoul lurking somewhere, but Seth had no time to find it now, but he suddenly had an idea to kill two birds with one stone...
Hmmm... I sense you wish to prove yourself to me... but there arent many things for you to fight here in the castle, I'm still bringing people here, I haven't got any solid form of training or anything working yet, but... there is one thing you could do to prove yourself... but it's a little dangerous... [/b][/color] I don't care if it's risky, i'm not a child anymore Seth, I can take care of myself, just tell me what I must do...Ok then, there is a ghoul somewhere in this castle, pesky little thing, I could wipe it out in a second, If only I had the time to find it, those ghouls you see, they can't be traced by magical means like most other things can, so to find it I would have to look for it manually, and I just don't have the time right now, so if you can find it, kill it and bring the corpse back to me, then, judging by your injuries, I will be able to see how strong you are, considering nothing magical works on a ghoul, it should be a considerable challenge, what do you say?[/color][/b][/center] |

Alana thought for a moment, but it didnt take long for her to make up her mind...
Master Seth, i accept your challenge, i will slaughter this ghoul and ill bring it back to you so i can prove to you how much i have developed in my lone years of training
With those last few words, Alana set off to make her mark by defeating the Ghoul, then, she might be accepted by her old master... |
